Spooky Story Narrative
There I was, in the middle of town. It was late at night; likely around two or three in the morning. My brother, his friend, and I were “ding dong ditching”, hoping to have fun. We were walking around town, when we saw a house that looked perfect. But as we got closer, we noticed something odd. The house had an oddlyfamiliar scent, something we all swore we had all smelled before. As we got to the door, we realized what the scent was..Gingerbread! At that moment, a crazy man and his ferocious dog burst through the door, and began chasing after us. We were all so frightened that we stood motionless and stunned, but we quickly regained our wits and started to run away. After running for two blocks, we lost sight of the man and his dog; they had given up on the chase. At that point, we all decided that it was best to go home. On our way back, we heard police sirens coming, and all instantly thought it was for us. All fearing the worst, we all hid. Adrenaline pumping, fear rising,we didn’t where we were going. Hiding in bushes, hiding behind trees, believing that around every corner there would be a police officer looking for us. We slowly made it back to my house, and we all vowed to never go out again. It turns out that the police sirens were because there was an accident about a mile away from where we were. They weren’t actually looking for us, but the experience was enough to keep us in the house late at night from then on. On a side note, I still to this day eat gingerbread. Though it brings up bad memories, it still tastes incredibly delicious.
